Meeting Format
Meetings are relaxed and friendly – typically beginning with guests being introduced and being given a chance to introduce themselves and tell the meeting about their businesss. Then there’s a chance for all members to make announcements – these can be about offers they are running, anything that they believe would be of interest to their fellow members, or indeed any issue that they’d like help with. This mutual helping is central to our Club’s ethos. A light lunch and the associated opportunity to network with colleagues is a core part of each meeting. The major part of the meeting follows after lunch and typically comprises a discussion faciliated by a different member each week. The facilitating member chooses the topic themselves and members are notified of this a few days in advance. Recent examples have included topics such as the use of social media and improving google rankings.
Guest Speakers
Occasionally we invite guest speakers to attend to give a talk or presentation on various topics which are of interest to members. All members are actively encouraged to put forward suggestions for guest speakers. For example, in February 2011 we had Brian Cody talking to us about what it takes to be successful.
